For those who wish to find some unspoiled natural spaces during their holidays, the Queyras Regional Park is heaven on earth. Some genuine villages, a generous nature where flowers  and wildlife abounds, lakes reflecting the summits… A week won’t be too much to discover all the richness the Park has to show you ! And let’s no forget our comfortable hotel located in the very heart of an active and welcoming village, Aiguilles.

Its little shops, mountain food (pies, cheese, honey, jam…) and its traditional man crafts are waiting for you! You will have time to hang around in its little streets, to enjoy its summer activities and to meet the local who are still holding on to this little valley.

Day 01 :

Meeting with your moutain leader at 7 p.m. on Sunday evening at the hotel.

Day 02 : Vallée des Aigues (Molines et Saint Véran)

Col of the Prés Fromage and Bucher Summit
 
From the rua Hamlet, we will come accross forests and lightening pastures to reach the cabins and the col.
The Bucher summit (2250 m) will give a 360° view on the Queyras. Then, take time to discover the Saint Simon chapel and the "Clot l'Henri".
uphill climb : around 600 m ; 5h30 walking

Day 03 : Vallée des Aigues (Molines et Saint Véran)

Crests of Lamaron (2350 m) + Peak of Cascavelier optional (2562 m)
 
Below Saint Véran, we will join one of the most beautiful forests in the Queyras. Enjoy the "Nucifraga carvocatactes" story that your guide will tell you...
Then, we will get to the Curlet Cross which will lead you easily to the crest of Lamaron, giving you the chance to admire the view on Saint-Véran and the Italian boderlines. For the most motivated, it is possible to climb the Peak of Cascavelier.
We will end the walk by a nice guided visit in the highest town in Europe to discover the traditional way of living.

Day 04 : The Mountain guide day

Coming from the region, he/she knows it better than anyone and would love to share some of his/her favorite spots with you.

Day 05 : Vallée du Col Agnel (Italien borderlines)

Lakes of the Eychassier and Peak of Foreant (3080 m)
 
As close as possible to the hight mountain style, we will look for the highest lakes and surviving flowers and animals near the "neve".
First, we will join a parking lot (2620 m), to start fast. Small uphill climb, short distance but an amazing way on the Alps Chain and the Viso Peak (3841 m) is waiting for you. (At the end of the day, it is possible to visit the "Maison du miel" museum in Molines)

Day 06 : Vallée des Arvieux (col d'Izoard)

Pastures of Clapeyto and Lakes of he Faviere (2509 m)
 
A shuttle tranfert straight to the Arvieux Valley and here you are : in front of the famous Col of Izoard, and in the middle of the pastures. Just like old times, the cabins of the Echaillon et Clapeyto will show you some memories of the past. Many small lakes take place above the pastures as well.

Day 07 :

End of the stay after breakfast.

Depending on the weather, snow, no vacancies in an accommodation or any other reasons independent from our good will, we can have to edit this route. Our implantation at the very heart of the Queyras enables us to face all these problems without causing your stay any harm

 

In autumn: the program is updated to fit the weather conditions, the most beautiful tracks and the snow. Furthermore, from Sunday night to Friday after the day (6 days, 5 nights and 5 dys of walk), you will stay in another 3* hotel and would be able to use the spa center.

SPIRIT OF THE STAY
Leaving from a warm and comfortable accommodation, you will discover day after day a new valley, each different from the one before. A very varied stay to let go of the pressure in a region protected from mass tourism. We guarantee a week without stress!
 
MONT-DAUPHIN
Built by Vauban in 1693 this incredible fortified town is set on a plateau that stands tall over the rivers Guil and Durance, at the end of the Queyras and the pass of Vars.
Extremely well preserved, Mont-Dauphin is the very type of fortified town you will find in the mountains. You will discover its arsenal, its powder shop and its church left unfinished. It is ranked at the Unesco world heritage site since 2008.
This fortified place shows a side of Vauban’s art , complementary to the other ranked site. The site’s choice rests on the following criteria:
Representativeness of the evolution of Vauban’s defence system, of a type of fortification and of a type geographical site (seaside, countryside, mountain.)
Authenticity and state of conservation of the fortifications.
Landscape environment, existent developing and protection policy.
 
REGISTRATIONS, ANNULATIONS AND INSURANCES
Insurances: The annulations insurance enables the repayment of the price of the stay minus agency fees in case of serious reasons less than 30 days before departure. They are 2.2% of
the price of the stay. You can also choose a 1% repatriation insurance.
Payment: Holiday paycheck accepted and payment by credit card accepted.

If you arrive by train : Arrived in Mondauphin-guillestre station - Line to BRIANCON

From the North : daily connections

- Night train : Paris (Austerlitz station) / Mondauphin-Guillestre

- Day train : Paris/Valnce or Paris/Grenoble then connection to Montdauphin-Guillestre (line to BRIANCON). As it is longer, we advise you to avoid all trains that are passing by Aix en Provence or Marseille

- Day train : Paris - Turin (OULX station)

From the south : line Marseille/Briançon

--> Arrive at in OULX (line Paris/Turin) : You can book a 05voyageurs shuttle (12 € to go/adult and 6€ for 5-12 year old children), to lead you to Briançon (1 hour). Call 05voyageurs 04 92 502 505 or www.05voyageurs.com. Then, the train will take you to Montauphin-Guillestre.

From the station to the hotel: On demand, we can book you a place for a round trip in a bus heading to the Queyras, (included in the price of your stay.) We will send you a voucher by mail. Without it, you will have to pay the transfer. You have to give us this information during your booking.

By Car

Once in France, the journey from Calais to the Queyras takes about 12 hours (excluding long breaks). Tolls amount to about 40 euros each way. Channel crossings are provided by the following companies. www.poferries.com  www.norfolkline-ferries.co.uk/ www.eurotunnel.com

Parking available at first guest house. Taxi service to take you back to your car at the end of the week.

After the breakfast on Day 7.

 

If you came by train, you will be transferred by bus to the train station of Montdaupin Guillestre (included in the global price of your stay)

2 to 3 shoes.

No experience in the activity is necessary to be a part of that stay. The daily altitude gain is of about 300 to 600m ascent for 4 to 5 hours of walkIing.

You walk with a light backpack containing the things you need for the day (picnic, warm clothes, thermos…). Your guide keeps a slow pace so can enjoy the discovery of the region without getting exhausting.

Walk on easy paths for most of the route with some passages on a more uneven ground.

In 2 beds bedroom.

Very well located in the village of Aiguilles, our partner host, offers the charm and comfort of a little mountain hotel.

You will find there, in a surrounding reminding you of lodges and refuges, a friendly and simple welcome. You will have dinner in the restaurant room where you will be served a generous and varied food. Breakfasts are adapted to mountain departure.

The cold meals you will have during the day are balanced and made of a salad, meat, cheese, fruit, biscuit… Picnic are booked at the accommodation or made by your guide.

Your luggage stay at the hotel during the week. For the day, you only carry your backpack (35 to 40L advised) with your personal effects needed for the day. (picnic, warm clothes, thermos…)

Security: Some of the places we go during the stay are far from living spaces, making it hard or impossible for phones to get a signal. To avoid any kind of problems, our guides carry VHF radio making it possible for them to join directly the mountain rescue.
